About the Role
We are hiring a Shopify Specialist to plan, execute, and optimize marketing campaigns using Storefront, Checkout, Shopify Plus. This role is results-driven — you'll be accountable for ROAS, CAC, and pipeline contribution, not just campaign activity metrics. The ideal candidate has managed $20K+/month in Shopify spend, knows how to structure campaigns for scale, and uses Liquid and Shopify CLI to make data-driven optimization decisions daily. You'll work with creative teams, sales, and leadership to develop full-funnel marketing strategies that drive measurable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Storefront implementation and optimization — configuration, customization, and ongoing enhancement based on business needs
- Manage Checkout workflows including setup, user training, and continuous improvement of processes
- Implement and maintain Shopify Plus ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and workflows
- Plan and execute Shopify campaigns from strategy through creative briefing, setup, and launch
- Manage daily campaign optimization — bid adjustments, audience refinement, and creative testing
- Build and maintain reporting dashboards tracking ROAS, CPA, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution
- Conduct A/B tests on creatives, audiences, landing pages, and offers with statistical rigor
- Manage campaign budgets and provide weekly spend-vs-performance reports to stakeholders
- Collaborate with creative teams to develop high-performing ad assets and landing pages
- Stay current with Shopify platform changes and proactively adjust strategies
Must-Have Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Storefront — configuration, customization, and troubleshooting in production environments
- Proficiency with Liquid as part of the Shopify development/operations workflow
- 2+ years of hands-on Shopify campaign management experience
- Proven track record of managing $10K+/month in ad spend with documented results
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable with data analysis, attribution modeling, and statistical testing
- Experience creating campaign performance reports for stakeholders
- Fluent English communication — written and verbal
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Shopify Partner Certification certification or equivalent validated credential
- Shopify App Development certification or equivalent validated credential
- Experience with advanced Shopify features: Checkout, Shopify Plus, Shopify POS
- Familiarity with the broader Shopify ecosystem including Shopify CLI and GraphQL API
- Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, or HubSpot certifications
- Experience with marketing attribution platforms (Segment, Branch, or AppsFlyer)
Interview Tips
Campaign Audit
Share a real (anonymized) Shopify campaign with performance data. Ask them to identify what's working, what's not, and what they'd change first.
Strategy Presentation
Give them a hypothetical business scenario and 30 minutes to prepare a Shopify strategy. Evaluate strategic thinking, channel selection, and budget allocation.
Data Analysis Task
Provide a Shopify dataset and ask them to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities. Tests analytical skills in a realistic context.
Portfolio Discussion
Have them walk through their best Shopify campaign results — strategy, execution, optimization decisions, and final outcomes with specific metrics.
